Triaster Suite 16.1 has now been released and contains the following new features:

Triaster Server - Version 16.1

Review Maps

From 16.1 onwards the Map Review feature will be automatically available from within the Live site (no manual configuration will be needed). In previous versions, when a map needed to be reviewed, changing the review date and notifying the author was a manual process.

With this new feature, any user who has been set up as a reviewer (all current approvers have this permission by default) will be able to go to the Map Review screen and see a list of maps that are already overdue for review or are due for review within the next month (this time period can be set from the Map Review screen). This is shown in the screenshot below.

If a map has been reviewed and no change is required, the next review date will be automatically changed on the map.

If a map requires updating, the author will receive an e-mail alert containing the reviewer's comments and the approval status of the map (in Sandpit) will be changed to Rework. The screenshot below shows an update being requested on a map.

Search Maps by System can now search Activities

The Search Maps by System reports can now search by either Activities or Deliverables depending on how your organisation is storing this data. If you are currently storing 'System Used' against deliverables and wish to store this data against activities, please contact Customer Services (customer.services@triaster.co.uk) who will be able to advise you on the next steps.

Greater flexibility in the layout of Process Library elements

The three vertical elements of the Triaster Process Library can now positioned in any order to fit better with your organisation's design needs.

The screenshots below illustrate how the toolbar and heading can be re-positioned.

Process Navigator - Version 16.1

Process Metrics

Process Metrics, released in prototype as ‘The Triaster Simulation Engine’ has been released with Process Navigator version 16.1. Process Metrics enables automatically simulate and report on end-to-end Cost, Time, Effort, and Resources in the Process Status Report and compare potential TO-BE scenarios (proposals for change) with the AS-IS (current model) in the Process Comparison Report is an invaluable aid to process improvement.

Both Process Navigator and Triaster Server 16.1 contain various issue fixes.

How do I upgrade to the latest Software?

Triaster Server (upgrading from version 14.3 or earlier)

Because each Triaster Process Library has a customised homepage design and specific alerts and approvals requirements, the configuration of the new menu editor and alerts and approvals functionality will need to be Library specific. Accordingly we are recommending that upgrade to version 16.1 takes place in consultation with the Triaster Customer Success Team.

If you are already on the 16.1 upgrade waiting list, or if we know that you are awaiting a specific defect fix being released in version 16.1, we will contact you with a recommended upgrade plan.

The upgrade process will both agree the configuration and training needed for implementing 16.1 functionality and also review any previously released features that you aren't currently using and agree an implementation plan for these too.

Triaster Server (upgrading from version 15.1 or later)

This is a straightforward process and it is now possible to self-upgrade. Please see this knowledge base article for details. Please contact Triaster Support (support@triaster.co.uk) if you have any questions or concerns about this process.

Process Navigator

Our recommendation is to keep your Process Navigator software the same version as your Triaster Server software. In particular if upgrading to Microsoft Visio 2013, all machines (including servers) using Triaster software need to be upgraded to Visio 2013 and Triaster software 16.1.at the same time.

However if you are not upgrading to Visio 2013, version 16.1 Process Navigator is available for download from the Triaster Knowledge Base: Software Download page.
